In times of crisis, access to nutritious food is essential for survival and well-being. At Sharek Youth Forum, we understand the urgency of addressing food insecurity, especially for displaced families and vulnerable communities. In partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) and other key organizations, we have been actively working to alleviate food shortages and combat malnutrition.
Through our collective efforts, we have distributed 8 million hot meals to those in need, reaching displaced families across Palestine. These meals have been provided through community kitchens, food banks, and direct meal deliveries, ensuring that families in crisis have access to nutritious food when it matters most. Our partnership with WFP and other organizations has enabled us to deliver immediate relief to thousands of families in a short time, helping to meet their urgent needs.
In addition to hot meals, Sharek has focused on long-term food security by distributing over 200,000 food parcels, which include flour, vegetables, and essential supplies. These parcels empower displaced individuals and families to prepare meals at home, ensuring that they can continue to nourish themselves beyond immediate relief.
Furthermore, recognizing the heightened nutritional needs of certain groups, we have provided nutritional supplements to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers. These supplements are essential for combating malnutrition and ensuring the healthy growth and development of children, as well as supporting the health of mothers during and after pregnancy.
