Violation No. (66): A New Attack Targeting the Youth Village and a Continued Pattern of Violations
Ramallah – Palestine
Sharek Youth Forum strongly condemns the continued attacks targeting the Youth Village, which today marks the 65th violation since the beginning of the war. These incidents come within an ongoing pattern of vandalism, destruction, theft of property, and obstruction of youth programs and activities.
What is happening at the Youth Village cannot be considered isolated incidents; rather, it reflects a systematic pattern targeting this vital civic youth space, undermining its developmental and social role, and hindering efforts aimed at empowering Palestinian youth and strengthening their resilience.
These attacks have affected the Village’s facilities and assets, including damage to infrastructure, tampering with its contents, and creating an ongoing atmosphere of threat that disrupts the implementation of activities and programs, depriving hundreds of beneficiaries of access to services and their right to a safe space for learning, expression, and participation.
Sharek Youth Forum affirms that the Youth Village is a civilian facility protected under international humanitarian law, and that targeting or obstructing its operations constitutes a grave violation of international norms that guarantee the protection of civilian objects and community institutions.
Accordingly, Sharek Youth Forum:
Sharek Youth Forum believes that these attacks, despite their severity, will not deter it from continuing its national and community role. The Forum will persist in working with its partners to protect this space and strengthen its presence as a platform for hope, action, and change.
