Majd Journey in Schools—From Collaboration to Ownership

Majd Journey in Schools—From Collaboration to Ownership

Since 2017, Sharek Youth Forum has maintained a renewed and growing partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Education through the implementation of Majd Journey in Schools. What began as a programme launch has evolved into a long-term model of collaboration—built on shared vision, joint planning, and a strong commitment to supporting adolescents in a critical stage of life.

From the beginning, Sharek and the Ministry worked through participatory planning meetings to shape the programme’s overall direction and ensure it complements the school environment. Implementation then takes place directly inside public schools through trained school counselors and facilitators, ensuring that the programme is rooted in daily school life and aligned with educational priorities.

One of the strongest indicators of trust and institutional confidence in this partnership is access. Sharek is among the few organizations consistently granted permission to enter and operate in schools, enabling continuity, quality delivery, and reliable follow-up across different governorates.

The most powerful success, however, comes after implementation. In several schools, once the Majd Journey cycle ends, school administrations choose to adopt the programme—continuing its activities and integrating its tools into their own school-based work. This shift—from programme delivery to school ownership—reflects what sustainable partnership looks like: when a programme is not only welcomed, but becomes embedded within the school’s internal practices.

This partnership with the Ministry of Education demonstrates how coordinated planning, trusted implementation, and shared commitment can translate into long-term impact—creating safer, more supportive school environments and ensuring adolescents receive consistent guidance, life skills, and wellbeing support.
