A dangerous manifestation of policies rooted in violence and racist incitement

Press Release

Israel settlers spray racist and inciting slogans and escalate their attacks on The Youth Village.

Sharek Youth Forum strongly condemns the repeated attacks targeting The Youth Village, carried out by settlers through serious acts of vandalism. These included writing racist slogans and direct threats on building walls, in addition to the deliberate destruction and damage of property inside the village.

The Forum has documented systematic theft and destruction, including the removal of windows and the infliction of significant damage to the village’s facilities. These incidents were recorded during routine field visits conducted by the administrative and technical teams to monitor on-site conditions. Such acts constitute a clear and grave violation of fundamental human values and applicable legal frameworks, including international humanitarian law.

These attacks do not merely target physical structures and property; they directly assault a national and community space that serves as a safe haven for Palestinian youth, and a vital platform for creativity, education, volunteerism, and youth-led initiatives.

Sharek Youth Forum affirms that these practices represent:

A blatant violation of property rights

A direct attack on civil society institutions

A systematic threat to youth spaces and community development

A dangerous manifestation of policies rooted in violence and racist incitement

The Forum holds the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for these repeated attacks and calls upon relevant authorities and local and international human rights organizations to uphold their legal and moral responsibilities, take urgent action to halt these violations, and ensure the protection of Palestinian community institutions.

Sharek Youth Forum reiterates that The Youth Village will remain a space for life, creativity, and national engagement, and will continue fulfilling its mission despite all attempts at vandalism and intimidation.
