On the Ongoing Settler Attacks Against the Youth Village

Sharek Youth Forum expresses its deep concern and strong condemnation over the continued daily attacks carried out by armed settlers against the Youth Village, located west of Ramallah, which have targeted its facilities and assets and prevented the Forum’s staff and youth volunteers from accessing the site or conducting their educational, environmental, and community activities.

Since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023, these assaults have escalated, involving acts of intimidation, threats, vandalism of property, prevention of civilian activities, repeated incursions into the site, and theft of equipment and resources, all amid international silence and ongoing absence of protection for Palestinians.

The Forum affirms that these violations constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, and contributes to the systematic policy of settlement expansion and forced displacement of Palestinian communities.

Accordingly, Sharek Youth Forum urgently calls upon the United Nations, the European Union, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and all international and human rights organizations to immediately intervene to stop these attacks, ensure safe access for staff and volunteers to the Youth Village, and guarantee the protection of Palestinian civil and developmental facilities from destruction.

The Forum further calls on the international community to hold the occupying forces fully accountable for these crimes and to adopt effective deterrent measures in accordance with international law, including the activation of accountability and justice mechanisms against all those involved in or complicit with these aggressive acts.

Finally, Sharek Youth Forum reaffirms its right to continue its voluntary and youth-driven work in the Youth Village as a symbol of Palestinian resilience and civic will, determined to preserve this space as a beacon of development and human dignity.
