Community Art Activities within the "Ana Insan – I Am Human" Initiative – Kafr Ni'ma
As part of Sharek Youth Forum's ongoing efforts to promote child- and youth-friendly spaces across Palestine, a group of female volunteers from the forum, along with youth volunteers from the town of Kafr Ni'ma, took part in a community art initiative in collaboration with renowned Palestinian artist Wajdi Al-Arouri. The activity involved painting murals on the Kafr Ni'ma Basic School walls in preparation for the upcoming school semester. The initiative aims to create a visually stimulating and supportive environment that reflects aesthetic and human values and fosters a welcoming learning and childhood development space.
This initiative is part of a broader series of activities under the "Ana Insan – I Am Human" program, which is being implemented in various towns and refugee camps across Palestine. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA – Palestine) supports the project and is carried out in collaboration with local and village councils, including the Kafr Ni'ma Village Council. These murals serve as a tool to reactivate public space through art and to empower young people and artists to contribute to a visual landscape infused with hope, identity, and a sense of belonging—especially in the face of ongoing political and social challenges.
