The Taksina Initiative provides a Braille identification card for taxi drivers transporting Birzeit University students. This card allows visually impaired students to easily access key information about the taxi and driver, ensuring they can identify the vehicle and driver if they lose personal belongings or need assistance.
Founded by Amira Abu Arqoub, a young Palestinian woman with a visual impairment, the initiative highlights the importance of addressing the needs and rights of people with disabilities. Amira believes that these rights should be met through proactive measures, not just requests. Through Taksina, she aims to amplify the voices of young people with disabilities and advocate for their rights through various activities.
